Should I Take Night Classes?
Starting a post-secondary education can be tough, whether you have started the journey once before in a traditional college or you are taking your first educational adventure after high school. For many of our students, scheduling can play a big part in whether or not they pursue their passion in beauty school.
Broken Arrow Beauty College and Cosmetology Education Center offer evening classes for both our esthetics and cosmetology programs to alleviate some of our students’ roadblocks or concerns. You might be asking yourself, “Should I take night classes?”. Here are a few of the reasons why you should consider them.

You’re a Caregiver
If you are a parent or caregiver, an evening program might be your perfect fit. Programs that begin later in the day can give you the chance to take care of your loved ones before you take care of yourself.
This schedule can be especially helpful for people with a spouse that works during the day and is home at night, so someone is always there for the people you love.
You’re Working During the Day
Not everyone can up and quit their job when they want to attend school. It’s more practical to think that majority of people will still be working full or part-time in addition to going school. Evening classes tend to be more flexible for people who are working to fund their dreams. Working during school can also be a way to alleviate another roadblock that many students face: loans. If you work while you attend school, you may not have to take out as many loans.
You’re a Night Owl
Some people just learn better after 4 o’clock. Are you one of those people? Welcome to night classes. If you’ve rolled your eyes a time or two at those “morning people”, then consider taking a class later in the day. Evening programs leave your day open for sleeping in, working, studying, or hobbies.
You’re Looking for a More Diverse Classroom
Our students come from all walks of life. The most diverse classrooms tend to be those in the evenings because these are usually people with families, jobs, and busy lives! It’s not likely that you will find many traditional college aged kids here. Because night class students enrolled in our evening programs for the same reason you did, it’s likely that they have similar circumstances and goals.
You Want an Education That Makes You Feel Better
A study conducted by University of Oxford and Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) demonstrated the health benefits of taking evening classes; one benefit being that the wellbeing of the individuals participating was boosted. This increase was seen in students no matter what they were studying.
That’s right, science shows that evening classes can just make you feel better!
