What is Esthetics?
In a nutshell, esthetics is the care and treatment of the skin. That doesn’t mean you will be doing facials for the rest of your life, however. Esthetics reaches far beyond that and digs into basic dermatology, hair removal, and makeup.
For example, in our 600 hour program, you can learn the following:
- Skincare Sciences
- Skincare Theories
- Facials
- Waxing
- Salon Development
No matter where you go in the world, there will always be a need for skincare services. A lot of people choose to pursue esthetics because they are passionate about skincare and want to help others achieve healthy skin.
Do you think you could be successful in an esthetic career? Then check out our esthetics program or contact us and we’ll answer any questions you may have!
Who is a Good Fit For an Esthetics Career?
There are many different career opportunities for estheticians. In fact, with an annual growth rate of 14%, a career in esthetics is expanding faster than the national average.
If you are looking for a job that is in demand and could create unlimited potential, esthetics could be the perfect fit for you.
You could be a good fit for a career in esthetics if you are:
- A hard worker.
- Passionate about skin.
- A good listener.
- Enjoy helping people feel great.
- Skilled at noticing and understanding problems, such a skin type and conditions.
- Thrive in soothing and calm environments.
- Enjoy makeup, and showcasing your skill with a brush.
Becoming an esthetician can be an incredibly rewarding career. If you’re thinking about taking the esthetic career path you could potentially work in a spa, dermatologist office, as a beauty editor, and more! The possibilities are endless, but ultimately you can improve someone’s quality of life by giving them happy healthy skin.
What is Cosmetology?
Cosmetology has been in a growth pattern for many years now and it’s no wonder why – everyone has hair, and everyone wants to look great!
When people think of a career in beauty, cosmetology is often the first thing they think of. After all, the trademark beauty salon is what it’s all about, right? Yes and no. While an education in beauty covers everything, it also includes education in skin, nails, and makeup.
In our basic cosmetology program, you can learn:
- Hairstyling
- Skincare
- Manicures and Pedicures
- Salon Ownership
While esthetics is hyperfocused on the care and beautification of the skin, cosmetology stretches further and encompasses all things hair, nails, and skin. If you love all things beauty, then a career as a cosmetologist may be the perfect fit for you!
