How Long is Barber School in Oklahoma?

Ready to have a career where you can flex your creative skills, choose your own schedule, and make a difference? If so, barbering could be the perfect path for you! According to research, over one-third of all barbers are self-employed, and 60% said they feel their job is meaningful.

Before you can dive headfirst into barbershop life, though, you will first need to graduate from a barber school and pass the state exam to get your barbering license. So just how long does barber school take in Oklahoma?

Barber School Takes 1500 Hours to Complete in Oklahoma

Oklahoma state laws mandate barber students complete 1500 hours of instruction at a barber school. During these hours, students will learn skills related to

  • Facial Hair Grooming
  • Haircutting
  • Shampooing
  • Sanitation Best Practices
  • And more.

After completing the necessary education hours, students will need to pass a written and a practical exam, as well as pay any fees related to licensing.

At Broken Arrow Beauty College, our accredited barbering program has both full-time and part-time classes available to fit your schedule. Full-time students can complete the program in under 12 months, and part-time students can complete the program in under 18 months!

Full-Time Classes
